Review on Dorman 609 130 Plastic Sealing Valve by Keith Howe

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Awesome cap for TPMS valve stem replacement!

I started looking for valve stem caps about two weeks ago. I inflated the tires and removed one cap at a time as usual. I added some air and put the cap back on. The cap under my car was deflated down to the last tire through the air compressor line! So I started looking online for replacements. After googling the plugs this came to my mind: 1. Good old black cap - I thought I'd just go to the local auto parts store and buy some good old black caps, but then I remembered I had TPMS sensors on the tires have . So you were outside.2. Cool Aluminum BMX Cap - I was thinking about putting on some shiny aluminum caps like on my GT BMX bike when I was way younger! To my surprise they are still being sold on the auction site and here at Revain. Unfortunately I've read many reviews that in cold weather some of these caps get stuck on the valve stems and need to be repaired. Apparently some manufacturers aluminize any metal, causing it to rust! At first I didn't believe it and decided to buy caps for myself. Of course, mine seem to be covered, but lightly. I also noticed the lack of a gasket in the lid, so I stopped using it immediately. 3. Dorman is finally here - I was at the local dealer doing some maintenance when I asked if they had gray TPMS valve stem caps for free or to buy (as I only needed one). Turns out they don't usually stock them as they stated they come straight from the factory with cars! So when I got home I looked up Revain and found these valve stem caps that are identical to the caps on my car! They fit perfectly and most importantly they have a seal inside and they don't rust! I bought a multi pack just in case my family or friends need a spare cap as they are not easy to find!
