Read all reviews. I wasn't worried about the handle getting hot. I just received my red diamond this week. I used it for the first time this morning. I read all the instructions first and washed it first. I was so excited to finally use it. My gas stove: hello 6 5 4 3 2 lo. She was at 3 the whole time. I cooked the bacon and flipped the bacon. My hand got very hot. I look away and the pan is black and SO HOT! I decided I wanted to test the grip as most people said it got hot. No, my hand is so cold. Since it had already turned black, I decided to go ahead and cook the potatoes. It took forever to hold it down at 3 to make the potato pancakes. This pan is probably the worst I've ever used and definitely not worth a penny! So disappointing.
