We bought two of these guinea pig pens over a month ago and they are now much easier (and less smelly) to clean than disposable bedding. . It's also easier to spot feces (usually we do this twice a day). When it comes time to clean the case (which we do twice a week), we take out the liner, replace it with a clean one, and pop the dirty one into the washing machine (after you've shaken it out, of course). They cannot be tumble dried, but they dry quickly if laid out on a flat surface. We were very happy with that.
