Bad design, this so-called "original" doesn't look like a real Infrashine original at all! The handle lacks an evenly closed design, so the tips of the plates connect first, leaving the other end of the plate 1/8 inch to close the hair, creating uneven tension. The plates lack the "buoyancy" of true original iron design. My real original Infrashine iron is over 15 years old and still works, but the outer casing has cracked and is getting caught in my hair. I'm going to figure out how to fix the crack in the housing and keep my trusty Infrashine iron that's almost 15 years old and it still does wonders for my frizzy hair on a daily basis. I sent this iron back.
