Less than satisfied

We have a 1GB 900Mbps fiber plan on the modem. And we have the whole house with Cat6 cable network. I bought this expensive mesh router because I knew it would be fine for our sub-half size house if it was rated for 7,000+ square feet. Wired LAN. After doing all this we had a very bad experience: - right on the router, the 900+ Mbps on the modem dropped to 540 Mbps speed - but when I enter one of the rooms, which is still 15-20 feet removed, signal strength and speed drop to creep (walls are regular drywall). - The worst thing was, when we moved from one part of the house to another, the 'smart' router didn't automatically switch me to the next router - the only way was to manually 'forgot wifi' and 'with' Join WiFi" on the device to connect to the next. And for almost 2-3 weeks I used Netgear support (I forgot to mention that I paid $70 extra to get higher support). Each cycle of their recommendation and my review will be a 1 day cycle. Additionally, the suggested solutions were to repeat the reset and/or (re)sync (although I reported that I have a wired backhaul so no sync is required) - I kept telling them that the problem was between the mesh satellites and the devices while focusing on the transport link between the satellites and the router. I even invited a third-party network specialist to check the points where the mesh satellites are connected. Numerous speed tests have shown speeds > 400 Mbit/s. I've been a satisfied Netgear customer in the past. But this experience was very bad.
