We live in a newly built house and every outside door has only one locking source - a deadbolt. What follows is replacing the original screws holding the latch in the door frame with stronger/longer screws, but I also wanted a second form of security to prevent forced entry and/or the possibility of someone breaking the latch . The look and quality of this door lock is very good and for the price it offers extra security. Very easy to install, takes about 5 minutes if you have the tools. Be sure to follow the instructions and check the fit of the lock by securing it with a screw. It depends on what you prefer, but if you install it with a light push on the door, it will be more difficult to lock/unlock without light push on the door. Since I already had various additional screws at home, I used those that have about 50% more metal in the "neck" and no thread in this area, and are also half an inch longer. If someone kicks the door very hard, there is less chance of the screws failing. See photos. The lock takes a little practice to open smoothly the first time. "Arrows" will definitely help those who are not familiar with the management of the castle. I recommend these locks for an easy way to get extra security and sleep better knowing we have an extra shift. We also use window locks, a security system, video cameras, a barking dog and 2A to stay safe.
