Review on Acer XV272U Xbmiipruzx Splendor Display - 1440p Agile Gaming Monitor by Alfonso Dzaquad

IT is cheap (cheaply built) and buggy.

1 week UPDATE: I had a flicker. Vertical lines appear at startup and the backlight flickers at 30Hz. It's awful. Turning it on and off didn't help, but over time it stopped. I kept changing inputs and cutting power to fix the problem. I have no idea why, but that must be what Reddit users are complaining about. One day later. And the monitor seems normal again. I won't keep it. Build quality is terrible, obvious software or hardware issues. I used 144Hz on both monitors. I have never needed 240 Hz. UPDATE: USBC video works with an $11 USB 3.1 cable. So my fault. macbook pro 2018. Added star. 1 hour experience. Totally not worth the responsibility and money. I don't think it's a goalkeeper. So far two laptops have not worked via usbc/dp. I have no idea why. Works well with other device. That USB input was the main reason I bought it. workstation, laptop, games. It doesn't work and I've tried 4 cables, two devices and many menu settings. Someone please teach me how to get a Mac to work with this display using a USB cable. The fit and finish is terrible. The upper frame is curved (strongly curved, look, everything is correct), the lower frame is curved (curved towards the user). Also, the huge 180W 19V external power supply heats up, meaning this display doesn't have enough weight to use the fully tinted lever my Predator 27 had. This display is worth more than $650 for nothing, especially given the flickering and crashing issues we've also encountered on Reddit. This seems like a total liability as not even the ports are working. I don't have dead pixels or I didn't notice it. You cannot enter the display menu if you have no signal. You can change ports, but you cannot access the actual menu. I have no idea why. He had already abandoned me for two tasks he had to do. It's too light, feels cheap, looks cheap and doesn't work via USB input. Final Thoughts: What the heck do I have to press 4 different buttons just to change the input? Who are these people condoning such an awful menu? Also the 3 "saved" slots and hotkey assignments do not contain inputs and do not allow you to select an input as a hotkey in your profile. So have fun working with the decoder ring, which is also BEHIND the display with the power button. You accidentally turned it off. For some reason the LED is on the front and cannot be turned off from what I could find (unlike my previous display). Why?! But why? no no save your money This is a terrible product and costs more than my previous generation 27" Predator (which continues to be really good, fast and sensitive to display/mode changes). The worst bug is a random array of pixels moving from center to right for some reason. This is annoying but fixed with Power/Loop. I just don't get it and regret the purchase and will probably return it. I have to make some good points. And I don't think that should convince you to buy this monitor. It seems to be powering my laptop. Advertisement? No energy? Yes. At what price? I do not know. 1080 can transmit 144Hz over HDMI with this display. I can't remember if it was possible on my old Predator. That's good if you have a workstation and a gaming console and appreciate the high refresh rate on your display that only has a working display port input. As for me, I switch the main display on my gaming PC to use a working display port. The workstation gets two displays (1 hdmi 144Hz and 1 dp 144Hz). So it's nice. I've run out of good things. Final Thoughts. I strapped the power supply to the monitor arm to add weight to this incredibly cheap monitor. Now it can barely keep it from popping up at the lowest setting of my arm.gsync? I have no idea, I think it's on the naughty list (or not defined yet). I expect to be disappointed with the gaming performance as well. Don't be tempted like me. Buy something proven and well designed when you're spending that kind of money. Unless you need 240Hz. For me, that wasn't a requirement. I needed more input. GMBH! The screws for the Vesa were too short. They are set back, so even shorter than usual. I don't know if the screws were somewhere else because I didn't even unpack the stand. All I know is that the screws that were already in the monitor didn't look like they would work with any Vesa mount. They were lockers/screws. Not long enough. So you're screwed if you didn't plan it. Suitable screws must be fully screwed in and provided with a thread lock. So again only cheap. I'm so depressed I can't stop typing. I wish you success.
