When I realized that I intended to shoot in houses and flats, I came to the conclusion that I required a piece of film that was wider than the standard fifty kopeck piece. There were two different lenses to choose from: either the New Canon 24-70mm 2.8 or the 35mm. As there is not a lot of light in the sunny city that we call St. Petersburg, I realized that 1.4 would still be the more appropriate value. After that, there was a decision to be made between Canon and Sigma art. Because there were so many glowing testimonials on the latter, I decided against making a selection because of it. I started off with a Sigma, but eventually switched to a Canon 5D Mark 4, and then I rushed to the park to take pictures of a friend and her family. And then there were two more surprises in store for me))) 1. The photographs came out with protective circles around the perimeter (but, thank the gods, this feature can be turned off in the camera settings), and 2. The focus is somewhere, but not where it should be on some of the frames. We did not think twice before purchasing a docking station because of its low price and the fact that it automatically calibrates the lens. And finally, the most essential point! All you need to know about the very coolest 35 lens is this: there is a marriage, and this marriage is NOT calibrated! You will find four parameters, each representing a different distance to the object, within the calibration application. And if the first three indicators are able to be calibrated, then the fourth indication, which has the name 0.8m and to infinity, cannot be calibrated in any way. There has been a change made to the lens. The new one was able to be calibrated precisely, and it has been giving us a lot of pleasure for the past year. By the way, some of the greatest works ever posted to well-known blogs were filmed on it. If you don't shoot the subject directly in the forehead, but rather a little bit from below or from above, you'll get a pretty cool cinematic shot. It comes with everything that is necessary to complete the task. In addition, if you have the Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 lens, you can produce some really cool portraits with it, which runs counter to the common belief that you can't do a typical portrait wide. I do a lot of shooting on it, and if you're interested, you can check out a ton of the work that I've done with it on my website, photobysergeeva.ru. And here's one more advantage: these days, lifestyle photography is becoming increasingly popular as a photographic trend. And now, just before your eyes, the ideal lens! My opinion is that it is both the best and the only option for this format. In general, the recommendation is quite high!
