These cable nuts are very suitable for outdoor wiring. You have more than adequate connection and I believe my wiring should be waterproof for years. BUT, have paper towels or a rag handy as you will get greasy from all the silicone that comes out when you insert the wire into the nut. At least you know it's a watertight connection. I would recommend them to everyone.
