seems to be quite well made, but not intended for intensive use. The buttons (rubber/plastic tube) are not strong, not very stiff and it seems like the strap might break the rubber material when it gets on it. bought them for military training to tie backpacks and gear to Humvee cases etc. but didn't trust them enough even after the rubber "tubes" were reinforced with plastic to make them stiffer. I would try a higher quality brand before taking on the responsibility of tying something down the freeway or risking losing thousands of dollars worth of gear. probably suitable for casual kayaking or medium duty home storage.
