I went to some trouble tearing off the headliner and hard-wiring it to the sunroof power switch - it was the perfect solution as the sunroof only gets power when the key is in the ON position. My dash cam turned on and worked fine, but 20 minutes later as I was driving down the street the dash cam signaled to turn off the power. I connected the dash cam via a 12v plug and it worked fine so I knew this product was to blame. The supply voltage of my sunroof is slightly lower than the cigarette lighter plug. To be honest when I plugged this product into my cigarette lighter it worked again but the low voltage cut off seems to have changed in the 20 minutes it was on and now no longer works at any voltage below 12. SO disappointed that this product has changed after a hard plug and only 20 minutes of use. If it worked when you installed it, it should continue to work later. And 12 volts is NOT a dead battery - maybe 11 but not 12. I'm replacing this with a product that works!
