I bought it to replace the 115 brand "yellow-black" model that I think someone liked more than me. I estimated how much it would cost to replace this gauge and the branded case and it was at least twice as much and this gauge can do more. For what I need a digital multimeter for in my job - low voltage intruder and fire alarms - it was still more than I needed and half the price and definitely worth it. It has all the features and then some, and even a case. The display is nice, backlit and easy to read. The continuity buzzer responds very quickly to a short circuit, which many inexpensive meters lack. The only thing I found odd was the use of two AAA batteries instead of one 9V battery, but so far that hasn't made a difference. Only the voltage function takes some getting used to. There is only one switch position for voltage, not separate AC and DC. Once you switch to volts it switches to AC and you have to press a button to select DC. An extra step and 99.5% of my voltage readings are DC. I wish it had longer wires, but that's not the main issue, maybe I can find something. Do yourself a favor and buy a magnetic tape. You don't know how much you need until you have it. All in all a great multifunction meter at an affordable price. I believe Klein still cares about their products and their reputation so I don't think they would put their name on a lower counter. If you're a technician like me and you're measuring basic voltage and resistance, you don't need a black and yellow marker, no matter what you're told. It's more of a status symbol than anything else. Choose this and you will be done.
