Review on 🎧 Optimized Sony DSJ15 Portable Sports CD Player by Scott Mauri

This is a nice, very heavy portable CD player. It has a certain weight and makes a very solid impression. I've only had it for a few weeks but am very happy with it. I mainly use it to listen to audiobooks on my commute to and from work (two hours each way) but I've only used one set of batteries so far after over 40 hours of use so battery life is as advertised. In addition, if you press "stop”, it will add bookmarks and resume from the exact moment you stopped it. Great feature when listening to long tracks! No Skips - The skip protection works very well and some of the roads I drive are very bumpy. Very good sound, with a button for three different bass settings. When I first put a CD in, nothing happened no matter how much I fiddled with it, and I was mentally preparing myself for the process of sending it back to the seller when I noticed the yellow rubber seal that holds the two halves together when it was closed out of its slot and draped itself over the CD, preventing it from spinning. I put the gasket back in the groove and the turntable worked fine. The pad is a bit loose in there so I might have to repot it occasionally - not a problem, just an observation. The problem would arise if the gasket were somehow torn or lost - in which case the inside of the turntable would be exposed to what was outside. The two halves of the player do not snap together when closed. You need to push the clasp up and over the top half. This latch is fairly large and doesn't close too tightly, making it easy to get caught if you move and accidentally open the player. I just get picky. All in all, this is a great player. I've been through quite a few of these lately - mostly $30 pieces made out of cheap department store plastic - and experienced a lot of junk. This player appears to be very well made hardware that will last quite a while.
