Review on Hands Quartz DIY 12888 Wall Clock Movement Mechanism - Battery Operated Repair Parts Replacement Kit by Tony Doolittle

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Economical movement kit, needs patience

I used this winding kit to replace one in a watch that I liked and didn't want to throw away after stopping. The interchangeable arms are very long but can easily be shortened with scissors. There are a few very small, cumbersome parts in the kit and I had a hard time getting the last nut. If you are using this kit to replace a broken watch, you should also purchase a double-sided adhesive foam pad to attach the movement to the back of any watch face you are using. Also, I underestimated the importance of aligning both hands precisely at 12 o'clock before screwing everything down. Now the hour hand is slightly offset at the top of each hour and I don't want to experience the hassle of taking it apart and putting it back together. If you want to fix a broken clock, you need to prepare yourself for some adjustments and adjustments. When you create your own clock, things should be a lot easier. Just pay close attention to the size of the hole you make on the face for the spindle. The battery was very tight and at first I thought the kit was broken because the battery didn't fit properly. Great price for storing a watch that I liked but wasn't prepared for how busy it was.
