Review on πŸ“ž Vtech ia5863 - 5.8 GHz Digital Cordless Phone with Answering System & Caller ID by Sean Liu

Revainrating 3 out of 5

lots of nice features with some hidden and soft tones

This phone was a bit difficult to set up. The basics are very simple, but the phone doesn't give you enough time to add names and numbers and you have to start over to fill in the details. I like to turn off the ringer when I sleep. The headset has a ringer and the instructions to turn it off were clear. While I was sleeping I heard a phone call. WTH, does it have to come from the base? There are no instructions. I called Vtech and the first agent mentioned the base and asked to pick it up. When I picked it up the cord came out and interrupted the call! I called back and the next agent had no idea where the base call was and effectively explained that there was NO call on base. Base. I called again and found an agent who knew exactly where the call was and how to disconnect it from base. The space for your ear is very small and your ear has to be right across from this small space or you won't hear anything. I'm considering plugging in an earphone and seeing if that increases the volume. Overall a good phone for the price that could use a louder tone and clearer detailed instructions or agents who know their products. Frank
