I decided to purchase these dowels over a large list of skewers that come in similar sizes, assuming they would be perfectly straight and not warped. This assumption was wrong. Also, I was expecting them to be hardwood, and while they are wood, they are a bit brittle. Assuming you don't need them to be near perfect for your project they're fine, but if you're looking for something comparable to the dowels available at hardware stores (which may be more expensive - hence the reason why you are considering buying this), then by all means do it. I don't think I received a faulty product, I think the problem is what I expected.
