I have used this unit twice. The first time I used it I had to constantly turn it off and on to see the depth on the side display. in known water, and the chart itself shows over 50 feet on screen but not on the side display. Then I got the Navionics Chesapeake Bay Charts and figured this might fix the problem. (I got that too when the unit worked as the base charts aren't the best.) I installed Navionics Chart and the problem persisted the second time I got my boat out. I had exactly the same problem. After that, I had no confidence in the testimony he showed me. I checked the Lowrance website to make sure the device software was up to date and it was. I am returning this unit to the seller as it was sold by a third party through Revain. I don't think it will be a smooth return process.
