Does what it's supposed to and very basic but you can tell it's only 16 watts per channel and while that's enough for many speakers some speakers are quite inefficient and need more to get a reasonable volume. I used it instead of my large stereo receiver with my old speakers to supplement the TV sound. One small issue was that the tv volume control works like a master so I have to turn the tv volume up a bit to get more volume from the kid and the sound mostly comes from the tv. This isn't kids' fault, just a mention in case someone else plans to use it in the same way. Definitely worth the money. I'm happy.
