It is repeatedly written that it is leaking. I think you are confusing leakage with evaporation. It's not very deep and it evaporates about 1/3 of the water or more in a day and I built it in an exoterrium in the tall rainforest with about 2 inches of coconut bush on the ground between the pool and the heater. Glass. I think if you put this under or near a headlight it could melt enough to leak. However, since it's made of plastic and isn't resistant to high temperatures, I don't see why I would buy it for this purpose.
