Review on ๐Ÿ Long-lasting 70-Hour Beehive Candle: Eco-friendly Natural Beeswax with Cotton Wick by Summer Hendricks

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice concept, poor execution.

It's a very nice idea, but it's difficult to implement. I'll probably keep it for looks, but it won't burn as much. The candle arrives coiled rather than in a scissor cup and I found it a little difficult to shape while retaining the coil. Maybe it's the cold air and low humidity at this time of year, but at first I couldn't get the wax to bend, and I couldn't wrap my hand around it enough to heat it. This has eased slightly after the candle was indoors for a day and I put it under a lamp for a few minutes to soften it, but it's still difficult to get into a cup and I have to Reshape coil. every time. With a candle that burns for a maximum of 30-50 minutes, this is very tedious. The bees are plastic, come disassembled and detract from the overall look of the product, especially up close. They attach by pushing a built-in little plastic stick through the coils, but when the spark plug flexes or when you twist the coil to burn a new length they tend to fall off and fly all over the place. I thought they were 1) metal and 2) attached to a cone that creates the shape of the hive. You can poke something through or into the coils with a small stick (like something on a needle) for a smart person to fix. Finally -1 star for selling an 'eco friendly' product that is packed in styrofoam and wrapped in polythene. Not only does this defeat the purpose of buying a beeswax candle instead of an oil-based candle, but it also makes the product cheap. Fortunately, my community recycles styrofoam several times a year. All in all it's a very nice idea but not very functional like a candle and a bit pricey for what you get.
