Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

In general, when buying a fix, you need to know why you are taking it :) Very good glass for quite normal money. At the same club, the photographer is very praised.

Should be in the arsenal of any amateur photographer.
Has some pros
Huge luminosity. A must have for portrait photography. You can shoot indoors without a flash. Beautiful bokeh, if desired, you can achieve a very low depth of field.
Has cons:
There is no motor. If your DSLR does not have a screwdriver, then do not rely on autofocus. Although it is not so necessary when shooting portraits.

No manual focus adjustment with AF on. Again, not significant.

Different pros: Large aperture, gives a very nice picture. You can shoot in fairly dim light. Has cons: slow focus, perhaps this is the only drawback.
