This is my first diagnostic scanner. I bought this yesterday to test my son's truck. His check engine light came on. And the truck is very important to his livelihood, but she's also on a budget. Instead of running to the garage, I thought it would be nice to know what's going on. (Oh, and I've wanted one of these for years. Not that it has anything to do with it ;)) Good reviews. Delivery same day. (Checked the reviews with my new friend reviewmeta! Thanks to the Planet Money Podcast). This device was easy to use. Misfire detected on cylinder 3. Pulled out the candle. Aging gap tightened and cleaned (and new candles ordered!). Cleaned up the code. I checked again. And she's fine until we change the spark plugs this weekend. Despite some setbacks, we were done in about an hour. And yes, according to Google, if the misfire is severe, driving with the check engine light on can ruin your engine. So this small purchase could have saved his truck.
