Perfect except for audio

I purchased this KVM in January 2021 to upgrade an existing IOGear DVI KVM to deliver higher quality video to native DisplayPort . For keyboard, video and mouse, this KVM is fantastic. I can easily run 1920 x 1080 (the maximum my monitor supports) at 144MHz over DisplayPort connections. If you're not a fan of mouse emulation, you can connect a mouse to one of the front USB ports. I don't rely on my KVM being a USB hub, so it doesn't matter to me. As others have pointed out, it doesn't support active video signals from non-primary inputs. So if you're using two monitor settings, you might experience screen glitches when switching back and forth (I don't care either). It would be nice if TrippLite could do a firmware update to fix this. The only *bad thing I have to say about this KVM is that the audio transmission is pretty terrible. Unless you're just using a headset, any speakers plugged into the 3.5mm OUTPUT jack will produce an overwhelming hum/hum that almost completely drowns out the audio. You can faintly hear the noise, but behind the hum it's very quiet. I have tried many different powered speakers with 5.1, 3.1 and 2.0 settings. It's not about speakers or shielded cabling. Even if you just connect the KVM to AC power, turn it on, and plug any set of speakers into the audio OUT, the problem persists. Similarly, I tested audio transmission through the 3.5mm Ground Loop Isolator Adapter with mixed results. This *helps* clean up the sound for the most part, but it's still quite "boomy/static" with a bass-heavy sound. I have an open case with TrippLite regarding this, but I don't expect anything any time soon as it's probably a hardware issue in the KVM. The difficulty lies in the fact that it is difficult to find a DisplayPort KVM that is both reasonably priced and of average quality. IOGear, Belkin and co. may have better devices, but the prices are more than twice as high. If you don't mind sound issues or don't mind using a headset/adapter/separate audio switch, I would recommend this article. If TrippLite releases a newer or repaired model with sound fixes, I'll be happy to upgrade it to 5 stars. listen): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DNYF22N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
