I'm a pilot. I rely on Garmin avionics as some of the best, along with the King, in the air. So this Garmin 78 is, I have to say, the most embarrassing product Garmin has ever made. The built in database is something we might have been excited about in the early 1980s? This is the most primitive device I've seen since the Kaypro 64. I can't believe I can land on a Garmin plane from scratch, but on the water you have to ignore the idiotic "moving map" and scroll through multiple pages and match the Garmin latitude and longitude with it the PAPER cards on board. After a summer of that shit I bought a standard Horizon 870 VHF with latitude-longitude and just memorized the positions. The Garmin is such a shame that it can beat the Garmin among pilots who also swim. I want a double refund.
