I was looking for a portable monitor that I could use to connect to regular "headless" computers for troubleshooting and quickly found it difficult to find anything decent at a good price. You're really stuck between tiny monitors designed to mount a Raspberry Pi or other small board on top, or giant "gaming" monitors that are expensive and require enough cables to make you wonder how "portable" they really are. After going through page after page of poor quality options with lots of bad reviews, I finally stumbled across this monitor. While it's bigger than I wanted, the reviews looked good, and the ability to power it from a rechargeable battery or even from the connected computer itself made the deal. I am very happy that I bought this monitor. This is much better quality than I expected. The fit and finish are excellent and the image quality is very good. I have a few minor issues but not enough to give me one star. Pros: - The picture quality is very good. I've tested on a Microsoft Surface, MacBook Pro, and even a Raspberry Pi, and they all came out crisp and bright. - The protective "sleeve" that comes with the monitor is a stand worthy. - This monitor supports both USB-C and HDMI video inputs, making it future-proof. - It comes with a set of connection cables, so there is no need to buy additional cables. Cons: - The included screen protector is a nice touch, but due to the size of the screen, I found it impossible to install properly. I just gave up. - The small steering wheel turns very strongly. I'd rather have a separate button instead of "press to select" or even just three little buttons instead of a cog. At least I don't plan on using it that often. - The case supplied with the monitor is suitable for protecting the screen when closed, but does not protect the sides and is not suitable for travel. Although it's not really intended for that. I buy a small carrying case for the monitor to better protect it. - The included USB power adapter is cheap compared to the monitor. I wish there was a 5V 3A power adapter included, or even a USB-C PD power adapter.
