Seems pretty solid although I haven't tried it with a hammer. Spacious enough inside to store a large car key. I haven't had to use it below freezing yet so I can't comment on that unfortunately. However, I see two design flaws. 1) it doesn't shield your key's remote signal, so if you have a contactless key fob that only unlocks the car when you approach it; This unlocks the car and the engine can be started. However, this can be avoided by putting the key in a Faraday bag, although it might fit snugly in a box with a lock. The drawer set to lock does not need to be inserted in any particular order. As long as all the numbers are pressed, it doesn't matter what order you do them in. Let's say if you set your passcode to 1942, it can be unlocked by entering 1249, 1492, 9421, 9241, 4192, etc. Knowing this makes it seem a lot less certain.
