This meat thermometer is exactly what I wanted. It's simple and easy to use. Simply press the side button to pull out the probe, turn it on and pierce the meat. It lights up and provides instant and accurate readings. I appreciate the fact that cooking rates for popular meats are listed on the back. You can switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius. Just a tip, I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't turn on the first time, but you have to take the battery out and remove the plastic wrap it's wrapped in. It runs on one AAA battery.
