This gravel vacuum is exactly what I was looking for. I use this unit in 20 to 40 gallon aquariums. The crushing ball makes it easier to start the siphon. Once the suction starts it's quite powerful, much more powerful than my other gravel vacuum and takes a lot less time due to the higher flow rate. This has really reduced the time it takes for weekly water changes. Another reason I bought this item is that it has a long, stiff handle that prevents you from getting your hands under water while vacuuming/vacuuming your tanks. It really comes in handy, especially in my 20 gallon goldfish tank. If you have fine gravel or a sandy bottom in your tank, take your time with this item as it picks it up and removes it.
