Review on ๐Ÿงน Neato Robotics XV-12: The Ultimate Automatic Vacuum Cleaner by Dawn Edwards

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for a year

I liked my X-12 Neato but just a few days before the year it started giving me problems. It runs for a few minutes, then stops, beeps and tells me the brush is stuck, although I can't find anything to stop it spinning. I took out the brush and cleaned it carefully over and over again, but still. aggravating. When it worked, it cleaned better than my almost new Eureka rack, although pet and allergy filters are a must if you don't want your house covered in dust. I recommend dusting the filter after each use for optimal cleaning. I struggle with a lot of dog hair so I don't use a timer for auto cleaning as the dust bin is small and needs to be emptied frequently. I'm sure it would be great in a house without dirty dogs roaming through the dirt and covering the carpet in piles of fur. I use magnetic strips to cordon off corridors and clear one room at a time. I also like picking things up off the floor and sometimes pushing chairs and stools around because he needs so much extra time to play around with things. If you stop it in the middle of cleaning and move it to another location, it can get tangled and lost, but as long as you know this, it's not a problem. I'd still use my rack in tight spots where Neato wouldn't fit, but otherwise it certainly saved me a lot of back-breaking work. (I've gotten to the point with bad joints and such that pressing the vacuum is quite painful for me.) It did a great job with edges and most of the corners also fit any furniture about 4 inches apart (maybe a little less ), always remove clumps of dust under the beds. I hope it can be fixed. Despite my problems, I recommend the purchase. If it hadn't stopped working I would have given it 4 1/2 stars.
