I just bought this QNAP TVS-873e from Revain and received it today. I followed the quick install guide, installing 2 x M.2 drives, 2 x 2.5" drives in bays 1 and 2, and 6 x 4TB drives in bays 3-8. All hardware is in Hardware Compatibility List: 2x 1TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD2x Western Digital 1TB WD Red SA500 M.2 SSD3x WD 4TB 7200 WD4003FFBX-68MU33x WD 4TB 7200 WD40EFRX-68WT0N0 After installing each drive, the device recognized the drive and showed that to drives both in the storage manager and on the screen of QNAP itself. I went back to my workstation to start creating a storage pool and suddenly my entire server and network rack went down and the backup battery started warning. When I looked at the data for the backup battery, it said it was overcharging. I switched off QNAP, restarted backup battery and successfully enabled backup of my devices. Please note that without QNAP, my current setup barely reaches 50% of backup battery usage. I connected QNAP to another brand new backup battery without any other devices and it did the same thing. QNAP won't turn on and I have no idea if it's burned out on the various discs mentioned above. I contacted QNAP support to review my options, but this device is clearly defective.
