Got this to replace another phone that spoke caller ID and it's just awful. I almost never understand what he says, and he pronounces almost everything wrong. He says "Philadelphia" so weird it's funny. The design is quite attractive, the sound is normal, nothing special, it is comfortable to hear messages on the phone. But the caller id announcer is so bad compared to my old phone that it only gets 2 stars. Update: A phone is completely dead, one we hardly use because it's in the basement. I thought maybe it was the battery so I tried changing the batteries from another phone but it still wouldn't turn on. I went ahead and opened it up and it looks like the internal battery has run out. It's all white and looks rusty. Downgrading the rating to 1 star and adding a photo.
