We bought these to replace broken Christmas lights. I was afraid these lights wouldn't be dense enough, but even with 15 lights 40 feet away in our house, they're bright enough to look great. The biggest problem: TWO lightbulbs burned out in one day! It's raining today so I didn't replace them. But I will use up my ONLY two spare bulbs within 24 hours of installation. Other reviewers are right too: It's about 36 feet lit length (not 48). UPDATE (3 days later): THREE lightbulbs are now frequently blowing out. We had no way of pulling out the ladder and replacing it. I find myself hitting them with a flagpole to make them light up again. It became a ridiculous nightly ritual. Definitely expected more for the money.
