Great microwave. The microwave has both a LIGHT and a TURNTABLE when you press the start button. It also makes a distinct "ding" sound when it's done - just like a real one. The only slightly annoying thing is that the rotating plate and rail are easy to detach and difficult for baby to put them back (by aligning certain grooves, just like in a real microwave). The top is also fairly light plastic so it can easily be knocked off the rails and then be difficult for a child to put back in place (I have a feeling even the glass tops in real adult microwaves are sometimes difficult to put together!). I appreciate how realistic this is, but I don't see the point of having both a removable plate and a splint (two things a kid has to collect every time they accidentally get knocked over). It would be nice to only attach a turntable. This would help reduce the number of accidents and subsequent frustration of not being able to reassemble (and keep using) it. Because once the plate is knocked over or misaligned, it won't spin properly (again, just like in a real microwave). My kid even just took the plate off because it's so annoying and easily tips over.
