The fibers separate easily, the rug falls apart after two years of little use.

When this rug first arrived we were very happy with it. If it had stayed in the same condition I would have given 2-3 stars. When it arrived it had some sort of yellow stain which I removed, if it hadn't come off it would have been sent back. He also filled approx. 7 vacuum canisters with bulk material. To be honest I was surprised that once all the material stopped rising, there was nothing left of the carpet at all. Even after all this cleaning over several months, the fibers are all over the floor, around the carpet and in a vacuum cleaner. It is also difficult to vacuum well due to the uneven surface. So all in all I was quite happy with the rug considering the price but in the last two years it has really started to deteriorate. Pieces of pile come off randomly, the raised surface has become completely dull despite all attempts to polish it up again. The gray-blue (which was supposed to be silver) part of the carpet had faded dramatically, I noticed as I was about to move a chair. The white part of the ivory color has darkened, it seems that it absorbs any dirt or dust that touches it. I recently cleaned it with a wool carpet cleaner and the white part seems to have lightened and the carpet looks much nicer. I'm considering sending it in for a professional cleaning and tape protection, but given the amount of lint I'm not sure it's worth spending over $100 for a clean when the rug itself is damaged - and the clean wins . I will not come back. the color where it disappeared. We're decent people and we don't have kids so I don't understand why this rug didn't last. Very disappointing. My best guess is that it's not all wool and has a cotton backing to which the wool is attached (making it a lot cheaper than a solid wool rug) as the fibers easily shed even with light use. Honestly, save your money and just buy a more expensive carpet. Sure, it looks nice and pretty cheap, but we paid over $300 two years ago and now we need new carpet. I would rather spend 600-1000 and buy a rug that will last many years than buy a new one in two years. I would only recommend this rug if you are placing it in a room that has hardly been used such as a bedroom. a guest room or a formal dining room as it won't stand up to even light wear and tear. I'd also recommend some instant tape protection and possibly a professional cleaning to remove any loose material before you even use it.
