these are great filters, i just wish revain would sell MERV 14, MERV 15 and higher filters that remove viruses and other things from the air. We still have some mold spores (bad allergies in the family) and it doesn't seem to be catching as much as a higher stage filter might. However, no single filter captures everything and we change it every month. what seems right. These filters are simple, easy to use and we will continue to buy them even as HVAC companies try to tell everyone to use fiberglass filters. It's absolutely impossible for a fiberglass filter to capture 1/100 when those filters do what those filters do. The whole phrase "pleated filters are bad for your HVAC system" is a blatant WRONG. HVAC companies just don't want to admit that they make lousy equipment that they overprice and sell to US customers. Europeans don't face the same problems we do when heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems constantly fail or run out of refrigerant. A closed refrigerant system in Europe is exactly what a closed loop is, not leaking any ozone depleting gas sold at 30 times its actual cost and cost. Cars here have HVAC systems and don't break down or leak gas all the time, even when they're new. I'll leave the podium now, but HVAC contractors and installers/repairers have been ripping off Americans for almost a century so they can do more and work. fewer. Why do new vehicle systems last 10-20 years without a single leak, but new home HVAC systems (some failures) often do so within the first year or less? There are many more cars on the road. They give a one year warranty on their systems and find this acceptable, they often charge money for even under warranty repairs and blame the customer for "pleated filters". WRONG WRONG WRONG. All American HVAC production must be strictly controlled by the state, and work performed by mechanics, especially by certified subcontractors hired by manufacturers, must be fired by the state for shoddy work and lying about malfunctions. equipment, and almost always finds someone else to blame, not pleated filters. These filters are excellent and we will continue to buy them regardless of any evidence that they are causing HVAC system failures. HVAC systems are designed to break and leak, and no agency imposes harsh penalties for the lies these companies constantly use. My recommendation: buy, buy, buy. Great filter and we will always use these for the 12/12 inlet we have while using the other for the 12/24 inlet. MERV rating. Size seems to be the only issue, if you have an unusually sized return it is often difficult to find a filter with a high MERV.
