Review on πŸ“Ί Enhance Your Home Theater Network with ACTIONTEC Coax Network Adapter (ECB3500T01) by John May

Revainrating 4 out of 5

MoCA Bridges are the BEST way to connect Ethernet to any room in your home.

These Moka bridges work great and are way better than Wi-Fi. I had a Wi-Fi bridge to connect wired ethernet from an upstairs router to a downstairs home entertainment center. Very unreliable and Netflix would have fallen badly. I bought a couple of moca single port bridges from actiontek and since then everything has been running smoothly and quickly. I routed the entertainment rig through one of the bridges and then through a 4 port switch to allow wired access to the TV, Xbox, TiVo and amp. The repeater is the client for the broadcast. I recently swapped out a couple of TVs to make room for a new main TV. This meant I needed Ethernet on the bedroom TV. So I bought this 4 port for downstairs use to replace the one port bridge and switch and moved the one port TV to the bedroom. All 3 work perfectly together. You can just hang them up anywhere you have coax cable and a fast network connection. You can install multiple, although I'm not sure what the limit is. These devices also handle voltage peaks and immediately go back into the grid. 5-star performance, but deducting one star because these switch versions don't have an internal splitter (only a coax connector). They include an external coax splitter, but since it's external it adds to the cable clutter. Single port versions have a splitter inside. Two cable ports, inlet and through so I can run the cable to a set top box, TiVo, etc.

Pros
  • Ideal for home theaters with up to four Gigabit Ethernet ports. Simultaneously connect your Blu-ray player, DVR, game console and smart TV.
