When I first looked at the original part fitted there was a step on top of the tensioner damper designed to fit around the lip of the timing cover. At first glance it looks like a replacement Delco AC block will interfere with the timing case cover and will not fit. But I was like, heck, I've got a car in the air, I'll put it in and see what happens. Think IT WILL WORK! Apparently the Delco AC part is supposed to have a slightly different geometry than the OEM block so the damper protection area doesn't cover the timing case cover. However, hardly. Screwed together without tension, the boot protrudes from the body by almost a hair's breadth. After clamping and in the working position, it is released by approx. 1 mm. I think the comments about it not fitting are coming from buyers who just visualized it, didn't install it. Just order and install, everything should be fine. Even if the shoe touches, that's no problem. I have been in the wrench business both professionally and personally for 40 years and it is rather uncommon for an OEM part from a quality manufacturer not to fit. But I've seen fit issues with cheaper Chinese manufacturers.
