DO NOT trust these cameras with your life or even your property.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY: Motion detection only works occasionally. Last night someone smashed 3 windows in my car. I drew a motion detection "frame" around my car over a fairly large area (we don't have a designated parking spot so I have to repeat the motion detection frame almost every time I get home, wouldn't be a big deal if it has actually worked). I set the 2nd option in the power options ("recording time up to 60 seconds" but it never happens, the video stops even before the person is out of the box) with "human only" checked, to make sure it didn't catch fire every time a car drove by and the sensitivity went up to 6. I had a window open in my bedroom, I heard it happen, it wasn't from a passing car. The rocks in and around my car are big enough that he couldn't throw them from outside the motion detection field I drew around my car (it was a large area). They just wouldn't have gone that far. There is no video of the incident. Only one of me came out at 5am to see what the noise was. It was quite dark at this time and even when I looked at my car from the stairs I didn't see the broken glass. In any case, it sounded more like someone kicked in the front door, so I wasn't looking for broken glass (I guess auto glass doesn't look like a normal broken pane at home). So I didn't notice the damage until I left the house that night to try and get some last-minute ingredients for a Thanksgiving dinner. He didn't record me leaving at 3am to see what the previous two sounds were like, although I MUST have walked into the motion detection area to get down the stairs. He hasn't recorded me going in and out of his place since he noticed the damage. These cameras are basically useless. They're even worse than useless because without cameras I wouldn't have a false sense of security. Basically, they only work when they want to. Only one video survives to this day and it shows me leaving the house at 5am after hearing another loud noise (I think it came back and hit my rear window). This is a large condominium, about 20 people walked past my car today which should have been recorded but it didn't. I've had other security cameras in the past where this wouldn't have been a problem. I know I set it up correctly (I'm pretty tech savvy). It's just a poor quality product. (and of course Amazon's return window has expired, I think I may need to discuss this with my credit card company if there are any issues with the return). Motion detection seems to drop out completely after 30 feet or so, and then only works randomly when approached. The car was less than 100 feet away (more like 40-50 feet from the camera). Also, I've only had it for about 2 months and have had to take it off about 4 times now to charge it, so no need. Don't believe the battery life hype. Unless you're far out in the country where nobody ever runs it. I am a minibus driver, this car is my livelihood. I've been in home quarantine so I don't have enough money to cover the deductible, I've barely saved my rent. So it will probably result in me getting evicted and losing everything I have as I won't be able to fix it. all because I trusted those cameras. Happy Thanksgiving, I hope you all have better things than me.
