Last weekend I changed the oil on my pickup and the filter was very tight. I have cups that you put on the end of the filter and loosen with a ratchet. It didn't work very well. it kept sliding. I had to tap the end of the filter with a hammer to get it gripping enough to remove the filter and then tap the cup on the filter. With this filter wrench it's much easier to get a good grip and some effort to loosen the filter. I have access to a truck oil filter and will also be using it on my lawn tractor as shown in the photos. It has three different sizes for an oil filter of almost any standard size. I think it will hold up better than the strap wrench I've used in the past. You can press it in pretty hard.
