I had to install a disc to get this to work, but it was pretty painless. The product description on Revain contains a PDF file with a link to the driver. I've had enough of several cheaper USB to HDMI adapters and others have failed to get them to work at all. Others I've tried also required downloading and installing additional drivers and software, and even then I couldn't get them to work. I've read that some adapters conflict with laptops with NVIDA cards, and that's probably why others didn't work. I don't know if that's true or not. I used this adapter with an ACER Predator laptop that has a USB port. 3.0 and an NVIDIA graphics card, if that matters.
