Review on 🔧 Pair of Upgraded Liftgate Supports for 1996-2002 4Runner (Enhanced Lifting Power) by Jason Rodman

Pushrod pistons are about 1/2 thicker than my original 1998 4Runner. They do not come with mounting gaskets and washers. That's the problem. Nobody sells a complete installation package for these elevators. After contacting the seller to see where I could find them, they said go to Lowes or Home Depot, they didn't have them. I visited every hardware store within 30 miles of my home and was finally able to put together a nylon insert and washer recommended by a former customer of the same product. The full installation process took two full days. I also had a problem: I couldn't find anyone who could lift the tailgate high enough to insert the supports and bolt them to the car. The problem was solved after I rented a hydraulic jack and bought the correct length 2 x 4 to raise it the last 1/2 inch to insert and bolt the jacks into place. If I had known the complexity of the installation, I would not have bought this model.
