So, for the $35 I paid for it, I got a tape recorder, a radio, and (which surprises me) a small computer*. He does what he says and he does it well. The sound quality isn't amazing, but it's certainly good enough to fill my kitchen with music. I really didn't expect to like this thing so much. It seems to play MP3 files on USB in timestamp order, which I wasn't expecting, but it's cool as it's easy to manipulate. (At least on Linux. I don't know how Windows users can do that, except manually. There's probably a powershell way.) * It doesn't run Windows or anything, but understands filesystems, USB stick, bluetooth, mp3 files and probably a few other things I haven't used. I haven't taken it apart, but there must be a small computer inside, probably running Linux or some kind of RTOS. It amazes me that we live in a time when such computing power is so carelessly and cheaply available.
