Review on πŸ”§ Enhance Your Deck's Aesthetics with CAMO Edge Clip Hidden Deck Fasteners (900 ct) by Craig Shah

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not used, major design flaws, 4/21 update, broken screws

We used these clips to install a large deck 1X6 Ipe. This deck is difficult to lay because the wood is three times harder than a baseball bat and very difficult to flatten. The clip didn't help. The protrusions on either side are half the size of my fingernail, which is much smaller than competing products. Does it make sense? Because all the difficulties we had were due to tabs that were too small. First, when laying firewood, they do not stay in place. The 18'-0" board has (14) clips on a 16" axle. Not once did all the brackets stay in place when we pressed the boards together, one or more tipped over and pushed the boards apart. Second, and this is a design flaw of almost comedic nature, the clips CANNOT CONNECT TO THE SH! How can (3) boards be held together with a tongue the size of an aspirin? They can't, and they lost two stars for this design flaw alone. The workaround if you already bought these clips is to cut off the horseshoe shaped plastic tabs and use two clips on the same backing. You will thank me for that later. Video of installers laying out entire deck before inserting screws is fake, suggesting laser straight wood or plastic. At the moment, the previous CAMO hidden deck system is better. Update April 21: After a winter, 15 screws broke in half and the boards stood. Ever heard of a deck propeller breaking in half? Neither do I. But this thin wire with hangers makes it one by one. recall disaster.
