Initial review: Rough, pitted construction with lots of rust and no make or model mark. Significantly lower build/finish quality than all my other Bosch SDS Max components. Of course, the tamper is there to rub the soil, so the finish doesn't matter, but this item is suspect because it doesn't match the Bosch product information or other retailers' samples. Was sold and dispatched by Revain. Cleaned the tamper with T-9 and 0000 steel wool to remove large flakes and rust deposits (re-attach decal later for image comparison). Including an image of the HS1828 image provided by Bosch which matches what other online shops and local retailers are selling compared to what I received (with sticker). Pictures sent to Bosch for reference and authentication but no reply yet. If it's Bosch, great. If not, it will probably work just as well, but it will turn out to be a cheaper alternative branded part and probably not worth the money. UPDATED February 22, 2021 - Bosch has been able to confirm that the part received with no marks or stamps is a genuine Bosch part and is the current listing. Only lightly used so far and is holding up well/does the job well. Preserved with rust and seems prone to it. Just be sure to clean and oil a bit after use so you don't rust or rust the tools/bits stored inside. Will be updated if there are any issues in the future. Otherwise good to go.
