Water tastes absolutely amazing. I have never had such a taste of water from a jug with a Brita filter. Amazing taste. I have two problems with this jug: 1. It's difficult to get the lid off the jug without putting your finger where you can grab the "lid" right where it's pouring. So if you have something uncomfortable on your hands, you have just soiled the jug's overflow. There is a "protrusion" on the top of the lid, but the protrusion is smooth plastic AND tapers from wide to narrow (imagine trying to pinch the narrower tip of the cone and pry that cone out of the semi-solid friction grip to lift). .2. The volume of the pitcher and chamber is actually very small. We had a Brita filter before and it had a large 'top shelf' meaning it could filter more water in a 'bay'. This filter only holds 6 cups, which is equivalent to 3 coffee cups of water at a time. Part of this is a water quality trade-off: the filter occupies probably 3 times the volume of a Brita filter by comparison. I can live with the fact that this is a smaller jug: it filters fast enough that with care you can probably keep this jug filled with water almost anytime except IMMEDIATELY after filling the upper reservoir. But the inability to open the damn thing without sticking your finger in the cast is a terrible design flaw.
