I've seen some other reviews about how difficult they are to install. Hope I can make it a little easier. It took me a while to install this. From opening the box, reading the crappy instructions, getting the tools, installing (with a few hiccups) and checking everything and packing (including the photo below). 45 minutes. Jeep Wrangler 2010. Tools: 5mm hex (2) 4mm hex (2) 1/4" socket wrench 1/4" extension 1/4" universal joint 1/4" to 3 /8" adapter (for me since I didn't have a 13mm socket 1/4") but had a 13mm 3/8" 13mm head (for bottom locking nuts) 10mm head (for top locking nuts) Blue Loctite (242) (for crossbar threads of the bottom latch (part that holds the latch itself) on the latch mount), when screwing you don't want this to loosen over time, so I put blue Loctite on the threads on the center pins the brackets that hold the top of the grille (first!, then to pry open the brackets) itself) adjusting wrench (to tighten the adjusting nuts of the new latch after installation. those on the threaded rod in the middle) gloves (to reinsert the turn signal connectors .DO NOT forget this before replacing the grille!) Flashlight (mainly ch to see the damn nuts and roughly where are both located and how to get to them) Cheesy instructions (worth a look if you have absolutely no tech skills) I have the distinct advantage of having skinny fingers so it was relatively easy to place the bushing over the old bottom lock nuts and again for new lock nuts (even for supplying new nuts on bolt threads). I don't know what to advise if you have fat fingers. With the grille removed you are now working around the frame of the engine compartment so you will need to somehow get in to route the nuts in and out to install the cylinder head. The old fasteners came off very easily. The nuts were ridiculously easy to loosen (almost too easy, they didn't even tighten) so I was able to loosen the bolts by hand after loosening the tension a half turn with a socket wrench. The new locknuts have a plastic insert to prevent them from loosening, so they were a bit more difficult to hand tighten, but after I made a few turns they stayed in place, allowing the bushing to slide and tighten. If you drop nuts or tools, at least they will fall to the ground. It happened a few times and I was thankful I had a jeep. You know, without the big sheets of plastic covering the floor like most cars and trucks. A word of advice, when installing the top latch, pull this piece down while installing and tightening so that it is in the lowest position in the screw housing holes. The bottom latch catches on to it so you don't want it slipping off over time. Slide it to the lowest position and then tighten and the fit is secure. See image for the only tools needed (list of links above). A little common sense and patience and you'll be fine.
