Review on Black Monoprice Speaker Mounting Bracket - Supports Up to 10 lbs by Brett Blazis
Cannot support 8 lb speakers
They are rated for 10 lbs. max but I installed 8 lbs. Bookshelf speakers, and even with the extensions removed for maximum strength, the brackets failed and the speakers sagged until they hit the wall. You just can't carry a 7 or 8 pound speaker except from the ceiling. I have an older metal version of this mount and even that doesn't hold 10 pounds. They are made of plastic and are therefore only suitable for the lightest and smallest speakers.
