Review on ๐Ÿš— Enhance Your Toyota Tacoma TRD/SR5/Rock Warrior with ReadyLift 69-5212 3" F/2" R SST Lift Kit by Brandon Wynen

Could be a great kit with an extra piece!

After a little research I decided to get this kit for my 2019 Tacoma TRD Offroad 4-Door. Overall, I would only recommend this kit if you bought an additional part that is not included in the SST kit (see below). First the pros: 1. The kit is well packaged and well made. 2. Installation goes very smoothly even for someone with limited tools and mechanical experience. The only non-standard tool I needed was a grinder to trim the edge of the skid plate bracket when I lowered the diff spacer.3. The travel is a true 3" at the front and 2" at the rear. My truck has a very small (1 inch) difference from the rear, but it's almost impossible to tell. Overall, the ride feels almost stock, the steering stays true and alignment is a breeze. Rides great, just bounces off the rear spacers a bit. Cons: 1. Directions are not good. There are entire sections that are skipped. The cure for this is to visit YouTube and you will find multiple videos for each part you add.2. As I said above, there are some additional steps that need to be performed with a grinder. When I lowered the differential there were two small edges that needed to be sanded on the center skid plate (diff) and there is also an edge on the front skid plate that I had to trim off after adding the diff spacer. Not a big deal but needs a little more.3. Finally, my biggest problem, which made me do a little research and buy an extra part. It is VERY common to experience slight to moderate vibration in the transmission after adding rear blocks. This is because the gimbal's angle changes enough to create vibration, similar to riding over the safety notches on the shoulder. The solution costs about $20. You will need to purchase a carrier bearing spacer (I got it from Old Man Emu) to lower the pivot 3/8 inch. It's amazing that this small detail fixes it, but that's all it takes. Should be in SST so I gave the kit a 4/5. Not the cheapest kit, but with a few tweaks mentioned, it works!

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
