Review on OTC 4579 9 Way Hammer Puller by Jay Lee

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent slide hammer, best in puller sets

Hooray! I was finally able to use my kick hammer. I've had this tool for a few months but never had to use it until recently when I was replacing a wheel bearing on a friend's Toyota Sienna minivan. A hard push on that slide hammer and the hub bearing assembly came out with no problems. I'm not a professional mechanic, but I like to pretend I am. That means I work on my cars the same way I work on my friends. It also means I buy tools that might not get used very often (like this slide hammer and my three-bend, two-crescent-end wrench). I truly believe that having the right tool for the job can mean the difference between having a pleasant experience turning a wrench or not achieving a project and sinking into a deep depression and refusing to work on cars for the rest of your life can. This slide hammer is one such tool. It comes with all sorts of attachments, adapters, gizmos and gizmos to get out all sorts of stubborn things that won't budge. There is enough weight on the slide to turn stationary objects into moving ones. Take this tool, relax and enjoy the legendary fight with irresistible power and immovable object. For a guy like me, that's all I need. There are other kits that have many more attachments that also have more dollar signs attached. If you're familiar with jackhammers, you'll probably recognize the attachments: two wheel hub adapters (one tall and one short), a screw for removing dents on the fender, a small "claw" to pull on the edge, a three-arm -Puller, a puller with two jaws and an adapter for tightening a vise. As infrequently as I use it, this one fits the bill nicely. I've done enough research and read other people's reviews (some of them ARE real mechanics) to know that OTC is a trusted name when it comes to tools, so I'm happy with my purchase. these pieces from loss.
