Revainrating 5 out of 5

My outdoor cat took to it straight away and it was easy to put together.

I just posted this today and my street cat accepted it immediately. It only took me about 20 minutes to put it together and it was easy with slots and screws. I also cut out two square rugs to cover two sides of the roof for extra warmth and took a third piece of rug to put under the drawer. I then cut a shorter piece of rug and pinned it to the door, leaving about 2-1/2 inches over my arm for added weather protection. I can't use the door flap for the front door because I don't think the cat can get in when it's there. Or I can cut the flap off so the bottom half is open for the cat. The only gap I had was the space between the walls and the roof, and I think it's more for ventilation than anything else. I want to stress that they recommend using this in a protected location, not an open location. Mine is on my porch under a canopy, somewhat sheltered from the wind, rain and snow. I'd recommend getting the right size Philips screwdriver to make the job easier, and assembling it in a place where you can easily dislodge the plywood particles that come loose as you work. It's plywood, and the description in Revain sounds like it's solid wood. Not so. But that makes it lighter and easier to screw. The floor is slightly raised, but I put carpet in to protect the wood side panels from water damage. UPDATE: A few months have passed and the cat has taken over the little house. She comes morning and evening and only goes out to catch a mouse or go on an adventure. The heating works very well. However, we're supposed to have near-record temperatures tonight, so I'll check the cat a few times to make sure she's okay. She was fine on cold days in the past. But it must be cruel. All in all I am completely satisfied with the purchase.
